Mossbed Seer
Pilgrims far and wide make their way to Lake Mossbed. Within its pool lives a being of immensurate knowledge, a privilege from watching millennia pass. Originally a tangle of lake bottom grass, peat, and reeds it was a great energy steeped into the particles that gave shape to the Seer. The knowledge of empires’ rises, and inevitable fall, made the Seer an often sought source of meaning. Pilgrims bring with them tribute of treasures dredged from along the bottom of lakes alike, an offering to appease the Seer so that it may share its knowledge.
Pictured are two such pilgrims, offering the gift of bioluminescent plants from the shores of their world. The Seer is intrigued, but never surprised, when something new is offered to it. But what could two humble ascetics ask of such a creature? What unending riddle would the Seer be able to ruminate upon?
