Relics of Another Time

Created initially as a bound book, or portfolio, this series of textile pieces were created using layers of painted silk habotai, silk organza, muslin, and printed cotton sateen affixed to screen-printed silk noil backdrops. This was an exploration of different “spaces” as the completed book was supposed to be evocative of an atlas of different universes. Inspiration was reminiscent of the symbols, and diagrams included on the Voyager Golden Records created by NASA.
