Scritch, Scratch, and Scrunch
A series of three prints on mulberry rice paper, Scritch, Scratch, and Scrunch were completed during time in my undergraduate program. I do not explore tremendously in the realm of abstract shapes, and gestures but I wanted to create outside of my comfort zone. These pieces involved carved plexiglass plates, and layering of different shapes to create areas of negative space on the plate - the rough scratches drawn from lines present in our design space. I tried to keep a simpler, muddied color palette with these pieces as they progressed.
